Doar became managing director of the CME Clearinghouse in 2004. He was responsible for managing CME Clearing exposure to counterparty risk, setting financial safeguards and developing risk management services for newly developed markets. He was responsible for monitoring market volatility and setting margin requirements for the clearinghouse. He also negotiated cross-margin programs.
Working with the Chicago Board of Trade, Doar previously assumed operational responsibility for the project to establish clearing services for the CBOT at the CME Clearinghouse. He also was responsible for bringing NYMEX and COMEX into the CME's clearing systems and financial safeguards.
Doar's previous role as Director, Financial Management in the Clearing House, had Doar responsible for overseeing collateral program development, bank and custodian relationship management, counterparty risk evaluation and risk assessment.
Doar held various roles in the the CME Clearinghouse over the years, including Manager, Trade Processing Systems, Operations Project Manager and Clearing House Supervisor.
Doar holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Denison University in Granville, Ohio and a masters in business administration from DePaul University.
