Bourse Africa, a commodity spot and derivatives exchange, is a multi-asset class pan-African exchange.

The exchange, which was set to open as of March 2, 2010,[1] is 60-percent owned by Financial Technologies, which purchased the stake in December 2008.[2] The remaining ownership stake is held by African financial institutions, banks and strategic investors.[3] [4]

The exchange will offer contracts on commodities, currencies, bonds and diamonds and is aimed at being a pan-African market through a hub-and-spoke approach throughout Africa.[5]

The exchange expects to partner with local institutions to offer local university graduates training in trading spot and derivatives markets.

Products and Services

The exchange expects to launch contracts on precious and base metals, energy products, agricultural commodities and minerals.
